I’m Brian. This is the whole story.
I’m a regular guy from Ohio. I’m not a doctor, a nutritionist or a designer by training. Hupp Goods is the name on everything I make and sell: desk mats on Etsy, a fasting guide on Gumroad, free fasting tools and this blog.
All of it comes from the same place. A few years ago my life stopped, and I rebuilt it the slow way. I share what I did, including the parts I still get wrong, and I make plain things I’d actually use.

From 520 pounds to here
-
Late 2022
Rock bottom
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. For about three months I couldn’t move, and I lost my job. I weighed 520 pounds and exercise was off the table.
-
2023
Changing the one thing I could
I started eating less often. Not less food, not different food, just fewer times a day, starting below 12:12. Over time the meals got smaller on their own.
-
The next two years
About 300 pounds, slowly
It took almost two years to get to around 200 pounds. No surgery, no weight loss drugs, no paid program. As the weight came off, my RA symptoms went away and my doctors took me off the medication. I don’t call that a cure, and I can’t say fasting is the reason. I still have ordinary wear-and-tear arthritis in my knees and back.

Today
10,000 steps and a shop
I walk more than 10,000 steps a day. I design watercolor desk mats for the HuppGoods shop on Etsy, wrote Finding Your Window, built the free fasting tools, and tell the story on video at The Real Training Arc.
What you can expect from anything with my name on it
Honest, not hyped
I describe what a thing actually does and what it doesn’t. I’d rather undersell it.
Lived experience, clearly labeled
When something is just what worked for me, I say so. Nothing here is medical advice.
No subscriptions
Free tools stay free. Everything I sell is a one-time purchase, and your data stays on your device.
Questions, ideas or a design you’d like to see on a mat? I read everything.
